CashAFrenchCheck – 2016 Sorrel Mare – Great All Around Horse

Checks is by French Cash Yawl who won an excess of $40,000 in barrel racing earnings during his career and out of a 1D barrel racing mare. She has seen a lot of miles on the ranch and has drug calves to the fire. Also roped calves and yearlings out in the pasture. She has been used to sort pairs, sorted in the corral, and pushed cattle down the chute. She has a good handle and is light in the mouth. Checks was started out by Jared Lei and used on their ranch Lei Quarter Horses.
I’m selling Checks with experience in barrel racing and roping, but mostly as a broodmare. She has placed at the barrel races in the 2D, 3D and 4D with limited showing. She is not 100% sound and she does not always pickup her left lead and is very setty. She did buck me off at Winona in June; however, her saddle pad slid back and saddle went forward at the 3rd, and I thought we would be fine and kicked her to run home with spurs (the first time I ran in spurs as I thought it would be good to get her to run more vs slow down so much for the barrels.) While that combination did not work well and she got scared / upset and bucked. She bucked a few times last year; however, they were little bucks. This one was a decent stop and buck. I have the video if you are concerned and want to see it. **I would love to find her a home that has the funds to get her fully vetted and has the hands to finish her out. I think she could be 1D-2D with the right rider/owner. I have too many to invest more into her care/maintenance as a barrel horse.
Checks had a 2023 stud colt on March 13th from BP Phoenix Reign. This was her first foal that we know of and we have owned her since 2021. She did not need any help with labor, we had a camera on her taking pictures every 5 minutes, she was down for a picture and then up with foal in the next one.
